Firstly, thank you for your service in the Armed Forces.

Secondly, different people have different preferences. For every woman/couple who doesn't want young men I'm sure there's a woman/couple who does.

Good for you re the military. But why have a go at others. Lots of guy's haven't been in military but doesn't mean they aren't real men does it? Too young for me also

It's a bit rude if they are saying 'your to young, they want a man'

Maybe your just to young, lots do have age limits because sometimes it's just to icky

however... double edged sword time... rants like these could be seen as being really immature..

with regards to age.... you are going to be too young for some.. thats life

some dont want to play with people young enough to be son or daughter...

some dont want to play with people old enough to be mum or dad...

a preference is a preference is a preference... it may be more mature to remember and respect others...

In people's perception though, at 22 you are too young for me as well, the main reason being and it may sound crazy but I can't play with people younger than my brother, he's 25 - it'd just feel to weird.

Yes he is a man, as are you but to me he's still a boy and I also see people younger than him as boys too.

There will be people that you appeal to - however ranting on the forum is not the best way to endear yourself to people.

I've served in the military, there are a lot of serving and ex military people here - do yourself a favour though and don't use it as a reason as to why you are better than some people!

Well done for your army service.

But throwing a paddy because people don't want to meet you won't help convince anyone of your maturity

You're too young for me and this immature rant makes me feel more confident about my set age range.

In fact I may put my lower limit back up to 30.

Firstly well done on your achievements.

Our reasons for not wanting to meet someone your age is nothing to do with your manhood. It's simply that we would never under any circumstances meet anyone younger than our kids. While we can't ask for birth certificates in a club we will still give a wide berth to anyone who appears younger or similar age to our eldest who is 30.

That is our preference, and that is our reason.

Some people will congratulate you for being in the army others will run a mile.

Explain your logic why are you more of a man at 22 than most 40 year olds?

I think people should always be careful of assumptions. The assumption that someone is immature because of their age is just as disempowering as the assumption that blondes are less intelligent (or that those without a military background are inferior)

In the end, we have stereotypes to help guide us, but they are only guides, we can't use them to exclude all people within that category.

For some, age is important, for others less so. I have an age range, recognising that I probably won't have much in common with people outside that range, but also don't rule anyone out purely on that basis, as they could be great people (or hyper-energetic, fit shags).

Ok for us being a real man is as much to with attitude than looks or experience, maybe you are going for the wrong type of people with the wrong attitude. If someone is making statements saying your a boy it maybe more to do with what your saying and how your behaving. Many of the younger types that contact us are too vulgar and to the point and often have an attitude that they deserve or are owed something, this attitude has put up off younger guys and made up look at the older gentlemen on here.

Playing devils advocate for a moment but how does military service make you a man or more of a man than other men on here?

You're 22, been in the armed services for 4 years & working since you can't remember when. Fair play to you (though it is worrying that you're so forgetful at a young age) but again how does that make you a man or more of a man in comparison to others?

Can i ask what is your definition of a 'man' ?

Too young to have sex, no. Too young to have much in common with someone much older, maybe? The site isn't just about sex for a lot of people on here so maybe that's what they were referring too?.

In any case it's always easier to be called too young rather than too old, at least you can improve your situation with time lol
