Well that's it 
I've been told that I won't be allowed to be seconded from my current post to another branch of the civil service...

So I've gone and handed my notice in  
.
.
The wonderful thing is that two of my four weeks notice will be covered by the holidays

Good luck with that - a positive step.
I once handed my notice in over the year 2000 millennium and then called in for 4 night shifts in January claiming to have contracted the millennium bug from my pc.  |

Some have said I'm mad to give up a permanent post and take on a fixed term appointment ....
But this type of chance doesn't come along very often, and I'd be stupid to pass it up |
