Can somebody please help/give suggestions
Since 2 days I cannot access my Yahoo account. The little round sleepy face won't come to life - stays white. Tried online help but the options don't include this bugger. No idea what caused it.

In a strange way I find your message reassuring |

have you updated your antivirus program,or firewall, sometimes this can cause a problem with emailing on some search engines.or anything you may have updated just before it didnt connect,as others say this is a problem with yahoo,it has its ups and downs.more so since yahoo has updated itself. |

Anti-virus is still the same. I honestly didn't do anything - the thing just froze. Still the inanimate white sleepy face.
I could always email using my google account, and I can now email via Yahoo, but not chat.
And that irks me big time. |

Just been chatting to a friend who said their yahoo messenger been down for a week but okay now
So it may be a technology problem not of your making.
Incidentally when trying to message you direct it says you don't accept message from 'our sex' ? |

That is odd - as far as I know any gender can contact me. I made sure of that as I often find myself stumped when trying to contact women. |

"It was on a news website last week that they had been having problems, so its not you, its them....here is an update.

Thanks for that link. But there's only mention of problems with mail, not with the chat function. Hm. Will have to wait, I guess. |

Things still aren't back to normal.
And the oddest thing is that the white sleepy smiley on the bottom toolbar cannot be budged, removed.. it just sits there frozen.
I got some sort of chat possibility now, but cannot keep it open. It shuts down when I click it away, so I have no means of seeing if any of my contacts is online.
*shakes weary head* |

Sometimes it can happen if there making changes or upgrades. Yahoo have a habit of not telling people what's going on, so you sometimes discover something new or different after several weeks or months.
Fingers crossed it will sort itself out. |

In case someone is lying awake over this:
just switched on the laptop and... wahey!
little sleepy icon sprung back into life.
Glad I woke up on this ungodly hour (03.00).
Thanks everyone for trying to figure out what had happened.
A glitch after all.
Happy pagan Yule to all |
