London & Edinburgh

My train was delayed which meant i missed my bus, the driver of the next bus, waiting on stand called me over and said i could wait on the bus as he recognised me as regular (they are not allowed to do that, damn policies), he was so kind and i was so grateful to be out the cold. He then came to chat to me to tell me he was leaving the company and we had the most interesting discussion about his life. He was adopted as a baby from Nairobi, he knew the story as to why his mother had to give him up and he talked about the amazing time he'd had from the couple that adopted him from Essex, he's now a Grandad 6 times over. He was such an interesting man to talk to... He said what made his day as a bus driver was the people who said hello, or smiled, he did a job that he loved to get other people where they needed to be. So learning point for today, always just make that extra effort to smile x

My thought for the day x
