No they scare the living shit out of me, they're bad enough with a rear view mirror and abck windows let alone with even more restricted vision.
Had one the other say pull out on me on the motorway into the outside lane no obs no indication, and when I sounded the horn her response was not to pull back into her lane, or to try and speed up and continue changing lane, it was to continue changing lane then slam the anchors on.
Having to drive past a school at drop off time though has taught me all drivers become suicidal wanna be murderers once.they have their kids in.the car.
You'd think they'd be more.observwnt but they become terrible putting their kids at risk |

That could be true of any van driver - not simply female ones. |

"Does anyone else find women driving vans and lorries really sexy? "
there are some really nice looking women driving larger vehicles.
we have a tall & very slender 24yr old who makes deliveries for us & drives a full on 44 ton truck.
she's attractive fun witty & very intelligent. |

"The female drivers certainly seem more oblivious than the male drivers on average though. Is say 80%+ pull outs/RoW violations I get are from women"
Really? 80%? Is that an actual figure or one you simply have perceived?
I would say the majority of those who, pull out without warning, tailgate, cut me up are male. Does that mean that men are worse drivers? Not necessarily.
You cannot say that women van drivers, or women drivers generally, are worse than men just because of what you have perceived yourself. You may simply be noticing them more. That does not mean more of them do it. |

This isn't supposed to be a "slag off other drivers" thread.
Just driven an hour to work in my van and saw two vans being driven by ladies and one truck and it's something that just makes me smile.
It's a bit like a woman in a man's shirt to me; there's just something so damn sexy about it.

if you drive a lot with your job which I do you notice a lot of bad driving from both male & female drivers.
female drivers on motorways seem fine, male drivers are the issue, lack of signal or general observation. Pulling into what I leave as a safe braking distance & people who can't hold lanes on islands are my biggest bug... mainly guys! |

If people have an issue with someone driving they will always seem to see more of them..
Ie anti bikers will only notice the bikers doing bad things...not the ones that didn't cause them any bother..
However I personally have been knocked off my bike 3times and was a woman everytime.

I remember trying reverse a trailer with a motorbike on and I was struggling, a woman offered to help and reversed it perfectly so I'm saying nothing, just glad she didn't drive off with it |

many lady drivers i have seen have a big issue to reverse into a space, and i wonder how did they past the test, well, maybe a bit of leg helped, and how many could drive a car without power steering these days,or assisted clutches.progress has made things alot easier for everyone. |

Never run out of petrol yet and managed to get through the Alps in Switzerland where a sat nav wouldn't work. |

I've driven all over Europe. Tend to use sat nav in cities to find hotels. Always have maps. You never know when technology will let you down. |

Had to. Hubby was crap at it. We were lost in the Alps till I took over the navigation. Up until then we'd driven through the same town three bloody times. Caused quite a row ss he wouldn't admit he was lost. If it weren't for me we never would have reached the Italian lakes in a month of Sundays. He was hopeless. |

In that case we were definitely lost! Lol Never book ahead anyway. Usually just find somewhere. That's where a sat nav can come in handy. |

have seen some very capable female HGV drivers, and a few very lovely ones too.
their skills are at least as good as most other male drivers, and better than some.
ALL van drivers are bad, whether they have a penis or not
and car drivers are probably 50/50 split |

I wouldn't agree that a higher percentage of women drivers are worse, but I have noticed a lot more very young women drivers that are as aggressive as some young lads. Not being sexist. Just an observation. |
