Am I alone in thinking that sometimes there can just be too much information written down when it comes to posting your general stuff at the end of a profile?
I find that too many likes, dislikes, must and must not type stuff becomes boring. I believe in putting what you want but seemingly endless paragraphs are just too much to read. Maybe its just me or perhaps its a general feeling?

If people want something very specific, why not be clear about it?
Yeah, some profiles are long but generally those people know what they want, or sometimes what they don't want.
They're more helpful than "will fill in later" or "looking for fun". |

Hence why I rewrote mine recently. It used to be quite long. Now its just a bit of waffle |

Voluptuous, i agree totally with what you say, but i think there is a clear line between putting your preferences across and putting useless information in |

I agree there's a line. I'm not sure it's always clear, but yes, there's a line. |

My profile used to be short and informative and I was happy with it. But after numerous messages and a horde of cock pics and hassle from fabbers demanding meets I changed mine |

there are tick boxes for preferences, and filters to stop unwanteds messaging you. What more do you need?
Just enough blurb to show you are a real person |

Georgiana, i can see what you mean entirely. I understand about the pic trawlers and skip readers who are here, its a good way to filter them out, but there are guys here who are genuine nice guys, are you not bothered that you may be putting some of these off?

I have a lengthy profile and it stays that way. It is hardly War and Peace, and, in fact, is probably about the same length as a tabloid news article which most people have little trouble reading.
It works as a filter. Those who are unable or cannot be bothered to read it are not for me. |

Saying that I do need some more tho, but as I add more I hide/delete others |

I agree that some profiles can be too long, and others far too short - however I hate saying no not interested when someone has plucked up the courage to either wink or contact me so at least they have some idea of whether I will be interested or not and whilst men may not always read a profile - women normally do.
Also agree with comment on photos, whilst the more intimate shots may be fun, artistic, & give some idea of what people are into - clear body shots always appreciated |

People need to realise that they can put what they like on their profile as long as its legal.
Some like stories, some like preferences, some just the basics.
Too many people judge this and that and its getting boring.
And please look at yourselves before judging others.
If you don't like something MOVE ON... |

This
Mine is colossal, but is an effective filter...if a guy can't spend 5 minutes reading it or feels the need to tell me he got bored half way through, he doesn't stand a snowflake's chance in hell of getting into my bed |

Ours used to be very short. But we think it's more informative now it's a bit longer. We prefer profiles that give out people's likes and dislikes and preferences. That way it saves us messaging and being messaged. |

I think sometimes it is neither the length, nor the content that is off putting, but how it comes across. A profile with a lot of stuff in BLOCK CAPITALS doesn't come across well in my mind.
But, obviously those that rip off the format of popular game shows get a big thumbs up from me. |

I dont like long profiles, i think they come across as being a bit too serious and pretentious, not my type at all.

"I love the excessively long profiles. Being a typical man I don't read them, my instinct tells me that they are not for me"
Mine's perfect for me. It says everything I want to say. |

maybe you should use it as part of your Selection/Sifting process...
I know..... radical idea eh????
maybe its god's way of saying they are not for you.... and if you find it "boring" you are probably not for them..... |

We don't think our profile is to long winded, but we are looking for something very specific. Most of the p.m.'s we get, the person hasn't read it anyway. So we send them a "Sorry, no thanks." Or delete the friends request. |
