Best thing, seeing kiddies faces light up, Christmas Eve I just love! All the build up...
Worst thing it's over in minutes, remembering happy Christmases from years gone by with loved ones who are no longer here to share. |

nymphy, you really arent the only one.
our kid has his babies this year, but usually he doesnt and hates it, so usually goes into work or is on call, for the extra dough.
i doubt we are the only ones, just the only ones that are honest about it lol |

Best - being able to drink booze and scoff chocolates and ignore my Mum tutting at me because everyone else will be doing the same.
Worst - not spending it with my daughter this year |

Work getting harder and longer, never knowing what to get people, the the thought of no work next month are the main factors of what I hate about it.
What I like about it is the Christmas cheers at whatever even I go to. |

Best: doing little things to make it magical for the kids, how excited they are on Christmas eve, their faces on Christmas morning. Spending time with family and also having some me time. Alcohol acceptable in the morning
Worst: It makes me sad seeing people getting stressed about Christmas day and the seemingly competitive 'pile of presents' photos on Christmas eve night.
What I found really sad the other day was a conversation on the bus between a girl who looked about 9, and what looked to be her grandmother. She was asking what she was going to get for Christmas and kept going on and on. First it was a net book then when she explained what a net book was the lady said that would be too much. Then she said she needed a new mobile could she have a mobile? 'We'll see". Will it be a Samsung? A big one? Or an iphone? Everyone's got an iphone.
Awful awful. I just wanted to tell her to stop nagging and she would get what she got! |

me too, the adverts don't bother me but I really don't like kids, I have always loved mine but I like them a lot better now they have grown up
they should put the adverts on where the kids are fighting and crying cause they didn't get what they really wanted, throwing a padding and slinging their toy down that's real xmas lol |

Best... I love how it's one thing that brings most of the country together, whether they like it or not they share it.
Worst... people bitching and moaning how expensive it is. It doesn't have to be, it's just them wanting to keep up with the Jones's and so their own fault. |

Best = yummy meals prepared by the matriarchs of the family, lots of drinks with extended family we only see once a year and whose company we enjoy.
Worst = excess consumerism. |

The best thing about Christmas is that is only for a day or 2 and lots of kids just get so excited at the whole mystery and magic of Santa .. When kids are young enough it can be magical ... I know it was special when my daughter was young
Worst things for me
Since my dad died it just isn't the same anymore
Since my daughter grew into a woman it isn't the same anymore
The children i work with put things into perspective
We just don't know how lucky we are !
Give the kids love and attention and not endless streams of shite toys they will never play with ! |
