On here that low or is it just a trend that so many profiles have negative segments.
You know the ones. "Please read until the end there'll be a special word" or "ok don't know why I'm writing this because no body even reads these things but here's what I'm not looking for..."
If I read one more "ok rant over lol" then it might be time to not read the profiles and just send a message based on the pictures and pray that I've found the right girl  |

I'd love to be able to edit people's profiles  The level of surrealness would increase no end if I could do that. The possibilities for fun and mischief are endless |

There would be a rash of well spelt, but otherwise ludicrous profiles appearing, with single guys insisting on dressing as a Hamster for meets, or couples advertising for meets in a phonebox for phone sex, single girls with pictures of Maggie Thatcher wanting to meet Miners to fuck and so on.

It means aware of, having knowledge of.
Apparently cognisant is a legitimate alternative, depending upon whom you ask or to which dictionary you refer. |

I don't think its about control or calling the shots. I think its more about people being frustrated with others not reading their profiles properly - or reading them but deciding to ignore what is written in them.
We constantly get messages from guys (and sometimes couples) who apparently haven't realised we have a couple profile and not a single female... or who sent pointless two word messages... or who are way older than our age limit (we haven't set filters as we have some friends from clubs who are older than our age limit and we want to receive messages from them)... or who think that because they live around the corner we should be obliged to meet them.... I could go on much longer.
It is annoying and I have often turned our profile into a rant but then deleted as I don't want to come across as one of those ranty demanding people. But I can see how it happens! |

If the level of ignorance is low, then they must be clever...if they were ignorant, their level of ignorance would be high.

When I first joined (yes each time) I was determined not to allow my profile to become negative.
Then you get the same type of message over and over so you try and avoid these by stating it in your profile, this makes the profile longer and even more of a challenge to read through.
Its a catch 22, because you only get 1 public profile, and you need to entice those you'd like to meet; the respectful ones that actually bother to read profiles and deter those you'd rather not message you.
In my case I also use it for real life friends.
Each time my profile has progressively become more 'I wont do's' and yes I don't like it but it does feel necessary.
If people didn't ignore the profile text then the ranty ones would be fewer in number |
