I was gutted mine was weeks after I'd passed as my dad's insurance company wouldnt insure me so three weeks later with £300 in my hand I got my hands on my first mini and went straight to the coast with my mates |

I was dropping my older brother off at the pub and having to drive home on my todd, Wasn't until he got out of the car I realised this fact, It also got dark on my way home, so had to conquer driving on my own and in the dark at the same time
Also remember my first drive after passing, had mum in the front brother in the back, got to end of the road and stopped. I then asked how to get to Epsom to which my mum called me stupid for not knowing where I was going should know the way as I went to school etc there! Not my fault I was used to being told turn right turn left etc! |

No.. was probably months after I passed my test as Mum was not happy me taking her car.
The first time I drove on my own was probably 4 1/2 years later after I married I drove 20 miles to Mums .. was really scary as I had never driven a car with the gear stick on the steering column morris oxford. Oh lord i went all way there and back without having to use reverse cos I couldnt find it

Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound |
It was the evening of passing my test. I drove my sister, neighbours and the friend that had taught me to drive to dinner and the pub and then back home again.
A week later I had to do my first motorway trip to Birmingham. |
