Over the rainbow, under the bridge |
It's in a number of papers today that the Queen will not be attending the funeral of Nelson Mandela but that Charles will be going as a representative.
Now, I am certainly no royalist but seems perfectly reasonable to me. She is, after all, in her 80s and it is a long way to South Africa. Why shouldn't she send her son - the heir to the throne? |

Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound |
She has been sending Charles and the boys to the overseas things this whole year. My view is that at her age she is finding long haul difficult and she doesn't want her husband travelling any great distance either. Also, that she doesn't want to be too far away from him.
They are there representing her and that's their job. |

They have to make a big issue out of everything, if any other woman in their 80s didn't feel upto a long flight then hours of walking and sitting about we'd all understand that, royal or not her body is frail like everyone else her age |

"Shit Nelson Mandela died?! That'll teach me to keep my glasses clean, I could have sworn it was my local Nissan maindealer!"
That's the worst joke, it doesn't even make sense |

And if you knew how she does each day even if is only doing something "local"! Aa couple of years ago, she was staying at the Mountbattens in Romsey and was on her way to Dorchester area. I got caught up in the cortedge on my way to work around 7.30am and they`d already travelled for 3/4 hour, PLUS she`d have eaten and got dressed and probably done her paperwork she has to do! Very hard working lady and at her age I think we can excuse her a lot more these days! |

Speaking as a complete anti-royalist, It seems fair enough that she can be excused, but if we had a proper democracy with an elected head of state he/she would likely be younger and therefore able to represent the country at such an important event, as it would be right for a head of state to do i feel. I mean no disrespect to the Queen by this, she is in her 80's and as has been already said, has her reasons. |

I am of no opinion on the queen but totally respect her not going. For one thing why should she? But also she's approx 87. Imagine if ur gran was told to fly to South Africa at that age when any of her family could go in her place would u tell her to go or not?
Taking her health etc out of it prince Philip is approx 92 and recent years in hospital several times. Would she want to risk being that far away from him? No chance.
Remove the fact they're royals and look at the facts. They are elderly people who deserve respect and care |

Just found this type it in google
the Queen has promised little Georgie that his father, Prince William, will be the next King of England when she dies, not Prince Charles.

Hmm fair enough. Just read the article very true Charles is a joke can't imagine him as king but is a shame he's waited 65+ years and his mum changes her mind and promotes his son instead. Gutted. |

Of course Diana had to be eliminated,
and sooner or later the people who arranged her murder will talk about it. |

The same one that pulls her knickers up and down or is that a different one? |

Haha that's a different story but tbh the people who eliminated her if it's true will have been paid millions to cover up and keep quiet. Possibly they have also been killed |

I am glad she is not going as she do far to much as it is ... And I am sure she has been in some way doing something about his passing as very much into going to church ... She is a lady in her 80s and at times I think we forget that. |
