"The day I would say a politician has "lost their touch". Is when they achieve something the public likes as they never set out to do this "
Do you really believe that? You live in Wales! The Welsh Assembly Government has provided free bus passes for the over 60's, free prescriptions for everyone to name but two. I know you're not over 60 but I'm sure someone in your family is! |

All I know is 5 years ago. I can pay for myself easily. Now I have to go into debt to pay for the basics in life. Whilst politicians are getting richer and still demand a pay rise. Secondly they have cut benefits for people who are too incapacitated to move/go out a lot and by that I mean twice a week. Yet people who con the system go free. So while I witness this, with my own eyes and I a daily basis in my own town. I will still stand by my opinion. Unless something changes of course and then my opinion will be changed. |

"It's the way they are proud of it when for them it's their lunch bill "
It would be worse if they were proud of them taking £50 more to spend on their lunch bill.
Of course they are going to go on about how great are they need votes and if they can keep reminding us of how we are better off because of them then they are going to do it aren't they. |

Shame any government really. Although this is the worse by far in my lifetime (only young so older members may remember worse ones). I bet if we all had a "brainstorming session" to where we all put in all our ideas on how to save money without making cuts, etc and there were a few examples on where a lot of people agree. The government would still find away to ignore it. |

i'm not saying that we ARE better off but as the OP says, thats not the point of this thread, the point is them promoting the fact that they have saved the tax payer money |

I always felt better off under the Tories but now there seems so little difference between the two main parties!
We oldies can remember being told after every recession" we will make sure it will never happen again" |
