What they do to intensive farmed chickens is far worse. They clip the beak off so they don't peck other chickens spoiling the meat. Killing is killing animal wise be it for meat or clothing man has done it since the dawn of time.

Thats when i realised that to save money there's no point in wasting time and money on actually killing the animal first! Should point out that wasn't the case for mink killed in the UK, think they're gased.

Google it and see although I wouldn't recommend it as its pretty horrific what goes on to provide cheap 12 week at slaughter chicken.

Google it and see although I wouldn't recommend it as its pretty horrific what goes on to provide cheap 12 week at slaughter chicken. "

They cut half of the top beak off with a hot knife . they slaughter as early as 6 weeks. Not as common in chickens to de-beak as it is in turkeys, who wants to de-beak 50,000 chickens!!

"Did you see that program where those animals were just being left to die after having their skin/removed? youch!! Think it was the fact one had lost one eye lid in the process which disturbed me the most!

think I saw that one ..I will never forget its face

Thats when i realised that to save money there's no point in wasting time and money on actually killing the animal first! Should point out that wasn't the case for mink killed in the UK, think they're gased.

Gas is normal they want the animal dead they never skin an animal that still has its heart beating or any animal for food apart from that halal thing as the blood is better not going everywhere. "

They don't use gas in Thailand etc.

...Up on the Downs

Lots of grey areas - I would utterly condemn any wearing of something like a big cat skin, that is revolting I agree, but a humanely farmed animal - I can't see how I can object to that if I eat meat and wear leather.

Luckily there are excellent fakes around now which most people are happy with.

I wouldn't know I haven't researched but all the cock and bull about skinning life animals is sensationalism. I have caught and skinned and cooked rabbits and skinning is something you do with a sharp knife and a critter that isn't moving at all and is diseased.

I am right all the claptrap the activists spout is shear rubbish. Fro a start blood stains we all know that. Fur is a porous fiber it absorbs so why ruin your product. Secondly have you ever taken clothes of someone fighting you not to? Have you ever taken clothes off someone who is dead (ok probably not) but as long as there is no rigamortis the second is 10 times easier. Like i said Iv'e skinned first hand and frankly you can't do it to a live animal and not damage the fur.

can't say I've ever skinned anything but logic tells you if the animals alive its going to fight for its life and I cant see anyone taking a skin off in one with an animal that attacking your

saying that alive does have to mean conscious ??

maybe they wack it over the head to stun it?

The aim is not ot damage the fur/meat when you are processing so dead with blood that is not being pumped round under pressure. They drain and process its the same with cows sheep etc. I am a realist, I have pointy teeth for biting meat and a non hairy bum that needs covering to keep warm. Come the apocalypse I will survive! I'm not saying all fur farmed animals in all countries are skinned alive but in some countries they definitely are, namely the largest Far East exporter to the West.....

In this country millions of dogs and cats are bludgeoned, hanged, bled to death, and often skinned alive for their fur. The fur is often mislabeled so you would never know where the source was.

Not sensationalism it's fact.

Real fur is disgusting and morally wrong.

I would have nothing to do with someone who does not accept this.

The same applies to bullfights, hunting and any other cruel sport.

suffering of animals happens all the time, millions of primates are killed in medical research yet people pop a pill when they have a headache and think nothing of how they got it

Animal cruelty, be it fur, meat, medication and even destroying their homes will never go away its just a fact of life we have to live with, and we are all guilty of contributing to it by buying the products

"You may end up with red shoes based on the tub of paint that may get chucked over you...

Not agreeing or disagreeing with it, but have seen itYeah have heard people do that, what rights do they think they have to do that?!

about as much rights as the animal the fur was taken off.......Humans rights come before animals...get real.

depends on what level

does human right to have a wooden table come before an animals right to keep its home?

does a humans rights to wear a coat come before an animals right to keep its skin?

yes it does but in my humble opinion, not that its worth fuck all it shouldn't

Do you think its right to assault someone for wearing fur?

not at all and I never said I did

if someone spat in my face while I was walking in the street i'd punch their nose down the back of their throat and I'm a placid person "

this some people are pc crazy no one has the rite to spit in someones face over a belief.

if a person did that to me id be wearing there arse as a hat afterwards

A few years ago I went to my cousins wedding, at the reception someone thought it would be funny to dip a cocktail sausage in the chocolate fountain and give it my daughter saying it was a marshmallow, she does not eat meat and they knew this, she bit into and and spat it out, everyone stood there laughing at her, she was really upset and I got quite angry, we was accused of over reacting and not having a sense of humour, it was only a laugh, lighten up

I don't condone anything abusing a coat wearer nor do I believe anyone has the rights to push their views on other people, I wouldn't dream of going upto someone eating a burger and snatching it out their hand or assaulting someone in fur, but seems it ok for people to do it the other way round, I was actually disgusted more by the fact everyone laughed and though it was ok than the act itself, and by the fact when I told people after they thought it was funny too, saying things like, well it was only a sausage it wont hurt her

If a fur coat is considerably older than I am, what's the problem, the animals would be dead now anyway? Modern furs however, I wouldn't touch with a barge pole as there is really no need for them anymore, as fake fur is as near as damn it to the real thing to negate the need to breed and kill animals for fur.

That is the same as saying it is OK to buy an old ivory bracelet as the elephant died a long time ago. Or Nazi gold as the holocaust was so long ago those jews would be dead by now anyway!!! RIDICULOUS!
