Shitting myself, not evacuating but have made precautions to protect the house and will stay upstairs.

Flood defenses here are quite good so fingers crossed.

I've just been for a walk down Sunderland marina where the tide is the highest I've ever seen it, thankfully its slack water otherwise it would be causing a lot of damage to the nearby housing stock ,,,

Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound

I am a bit worried about my lovely person in Scotland. As we ended things earlier this year I don't think I can call him to check he's safe.

I just hope people heed the warnings and don't put themselves and others at risk. No doubt there will be some people going on about the weather forecasters scaremongering again and "it's not that bad" based on their own location. It's bad enough for people to have died and for others to lose their cars and see their homes damaged.

Seen a few comments about how people are panicking over nothing I'd rather panic and prepare then sit and chill out while my house fills with water.

I'm not evacuating as I am in a lower risk area of town, slightly uphill from both the sea and the river, quite far from both. I have tried to secure the house and will be making sure I am safe upstairs with food and drink x

There is no need yet. It's weather. We can't do anything about weather but prepare for it when we know it's on its way.

Over here the rivers are normally above the road

Freaks you out when you look up and you see a ship!

No flooding here, even though we are beneath sea level we have 300 years of serious flodd defences, dedicated flood planes and the biggest pumping houses you have ever seen. It's you people above sea level we worry about

Just been down to the river, high tide at the moment but about 18 inches before it breeches here.

Seafront has gone, as have areas further down the river. Gorleston is flooded too.

Looks like a fairly lucky escape x

Living just down the road from the evacuation centre in Sandwich I'm guessing I will be ok as far as the flooding goes although the local primary school will be shut tomorrow just in case. Fingers crossed that the surge due in at 1am and the other due in again in the afternoon tomorrow doesnt cause as much damage as people are preparing for.

Stay safe folks.
