I have just read a brilliant article about health and well being that's made me see things in a totally different light.

And I can't share the link here. Grrr!

No, I haven't. I'll investigate.

This article was shared by a friend on Farcebook.

It's all totally obvious stuff that I had somehow missed.

It's called 10 Things I Want My Daughter to Know About Working Out.

It's on a site called Wellfesto.

The premise is that exercise is a gift which allows us to enjoy good health and experience more of the amazing world around us.

Like I said, it's totally obvious but I suppose I've become fixed on the appearance benefits and forgotten the much more important part.

I'd forgotten that being healthy isn't supposed to be, and need not be, a chore.

I've been exercising a lot lately and healthy eating too and aside from losing weight I feel better, sleep better, am suffering from less headaches and just feel generally healthier.

I know from experience I get all those benefits but that knowledge in itself is never enough to get my arse off the sofa. As an intelligent, logical person, I have to question why I resist doing something I ultimately enjoy and which makes me feel so much better.

I know exactly what you mean, it's taken me nearly 3 years since having my son to get my arse back into gear and I was at my slimmest/healthiest and fittest just before I fell pregnant!! Then piled on over 3 stone. Oops. Still a way to go but I feel a lot better already!
