Putting the 'cum' in Eboracum

Are they? My daughters father was, and I suffered through countless episodes of 'World at War' but the rest of the men I've had relationships with haven't been interested at all.

Brighton - even Hove!

I like war films. Just watched 'Reach for the Sky'. I think the reasons are various such as an interest in history and I like tanks, stuff exploding and machine guns and Lancasters and things.

Don't forget the films about the many women who also served in the war, Odette, Carve her name with Pride (Violet Szabo). They also served but unfortunatrely were not as well knoen as the male heroes of the war.

Was on the news this evening about a memorial being unveiled today about the women who risked life and died to serve their country

Sounds good to me. I love the Tank museum at Bovington but always get outvoted and have to go to Monkey World instead. I mean, who would rather watch a monkey shit itself rather than looking at some 3 inch steel armour plating ripped through like it's paper?

Personally think every child should go to the war memorials to the first and/or second world war in France to see the futility of war

Lots of kids do but agree it should be there as a lesson of what we are capable of..

same with Politicians, who should all have to visit one of the death camps ..

London

Guilty as charged.

My share of our DVD collection consists of at least 300 films which come under history.

I think 'History' for me is the key word, while I enjoy watching films about this peroid, especially WW2, I think its very important that the sacrifices people made back then are not forgotten, I remember my grandfather making that same point to me as a child and my own father was in the Danish resistance (hiding British Airmen in haystacks, all very Ello Ello) so hearing stories of that kind of thing back then always made a keen impression of me that really stuck.

Ironically, I am a pacifist and always perfer any conflict to resolved by dialogue than by the guy with the bigger stick.

But I think its always important to learn from past conflicts to try and avoid them in the future.

It worked for Cuba in 1962, at least.

War films, any films or TV in my experience. Some people ( shall remain nameless) should just turn the TV off and come to bed when their girlfriend has all the sexy gear on and all the toys out.....just waiting, and waiting...
