I was recently asked what sort of gift would I like for Christmas and I am the sort of person who would like a physical item to say "my father got my that last year for Christmas". Rather than someone treat me to something or pay off something for me as there's no physical item there if you get me. Anyway when I got asked. I couldn't even think of a reply for myself. Does that mean I am getting old, am I boring? Just don't get why I don't really fancy any of the usual stuff . Anyone else like that? |

my eldest asked me last week what I wanted and I couldn't think of anything as I really don't want or need anything and I cant see the point in my kids wasting their money getting me something I don't want
So she offered to pay for a photography sitting and get me a big canvas printed for the wall of all my kids as she knew I've wanted a nice pic of all the kids together for a while but there was always one who wouldn't get in the pic
which is great as its something i'd really like and want but then I thought am I getting old when all I want for xmas is a pic of my kids |

Usually I'll be like these are the sort of clothes I need,
These are the kind of DVDs, computer games I like and various other games I like tend to be multiplayer and I like competition when it comes to games.
This is how I see it now though.
DVDs I have no space for them, I don't have the time to watch them and when I do its 11pm and I don't have the energy to watch a 3 hour film, computer games I am not interested in anymore, but if someone asks for a game against me I will say yes, its just the hype for it as gone. Clothes are too personal and people normally buy things I don't like/want. So I say don't bother and multiplayer games I have gone off completely as you have got to find someone interested in it when you are, which is hard. So going by that. There's no gift i want that people can actually wrap |

There's absolutely nothing I want. I very rarely buy anything for myself anyway, unless it's something I need like my boots dropped in bits or something. I don't do jewellery, I already have a watch, there's no cds I want. |

I have this issue with my dad. if he wants something he buys it. he doesn't collect anything, he doesn't read much or watch many dvds ( Hed buy them if he wanted them anyway) and his hobbies are horse racing ( nothing to buy really) and golf.
so for his birthday last week he got an electric toothbrush and golf balls.
I understand for some people there's nothing you would really like, but from the other end, Christmas is about giving, and us kids like to buy our parents something. so make stuff up if you have to. Don't make us feel like scrooges coz you've got nothing to open. |

I just don't want them to spend their money on me on items I don't want. |

I am not complaining about me having gifts I don't want, more that they are wasting their money. I don't want anyone wasting their money on me. |

but they probably don't see it as wasting their money. for me it's about showing my dad I care, and I'm grateful for everything he does to help me. so I buy him a crappy present he doesn't really want to show I was thinking of him. maybe they want to do the same |

Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound |
My family know I just need more body lotion and any other present I would prefer to be an experience.
I get people books and experience presents and/or a calendar. Although one year I did get my sister a colander. |

As you get older, you have either bought or had whatever you wanted, unless to win the lottery,so I think it's not what you buy,it's the thought that counts. |

I never have trouble thinking of things to suggest as I'm too poor to buy myself anything! There are lots of things I need, lots of things I'd like and then there's always corsets....can't have too many of them |

Snappo on the other had is a pain in the bum to buy for because every time I think of something he's just gone out and bought it!
If you are reading this Snappo stop buying things until after Christmas...put that debit card away! |
