Ladies and gents, would you prefer a man or woman to be honest with you about how you looked even if they thought you was ugly or be nice, lie and tell you what you wanted to hear?? |

No body is ugly, maybe different, but not ugly, so there is never any need to be nasty or lie, most of us have enough brains and words to find something good to say. |

I wouldn't expect them to say either
I would never ask anyone how they thought I looked so i wouldn't expect them to tell me either way |

I'd rather they were honest, (since I already know I'm not drop dead gorgeous). I'd rather hear I'm ugly than hear the insincerity in someone's voice.
I hate guys telling me I'm stunning - especially before they've seen my photo! - because I know they're just saying what they think I want to hear. |

"Honest. My ex always used to tell me when I looked like shit and I honestly appreciated that.
is that one reason he is your x ?"
Lol no, ex for other reasons.
I know it sounds bad but I really liked that he was honest. When he said I looked good I knew he meant it and wasn't just talking crap. |

Honesty as a general principle in life is ideal. Empathy and sensitivity towards others, coupled with respect, trumps everything though. Often less is more, and there are good reasons to keep quiet or say things in a different way that holds everyones dignity intact. |

Yes, well said. You can be totally honest without actually verbalising everything that goes through your mind -'Sorry, you are not for me' is enough. |
