I did the tree this afternoon whilst the kids were still at their dad's and just left a few baubles for them to put on. Much less stressful lol. We have a tradition where every year we all choose one new decoration for the tree so we will get those next time we go to town.
The main colour scheme is gold, black and purple but of course we end up with some random ones each year! |

I put mine up last night, so far we've had 4 baubles knocked off by wagging tails!
Its a black tree with red and silver baubles and tinsel and I've a pair of empty boots in red and white to remember Dad by, he always took his shoes off after eating Christmas dinner! |

I go by the twelve days of Christmas rule. This year that begins on Christmas Day and ends 5th January - but I will probably put the tree up a few days before and take it down just after New Year. |

I hate xmas decorations, they just look a mess after a while, so hard to dust round them they get on my nerves
I haven't even got a free this year as my kids are growing up I don't feel the need to put loads up anymore plus my dog would just eat it |

"Did u u know Father Christmas was invented by a cola?"
No he wasn't. Common myth which has been good free advertising for the Coca Cola company.
There has been a personification of Christmas in England as far back as the mid 1400s. Then he was referred to as Sir Christmas. He began to be referred to as Father Christmas by the 17th century.
Quite a long time before Coca Cola was invented. |

I was always told that its unlucky to leave it up longer than 12 days after christmas, nothing about when you puts the tree or decs up before hand, I am itching to buy my tree but I'd hate it to drop too much before christmas day, also got a young cat this year so will probably try climbing it. |

"Probably should've said that coca cola invented the father christmaswce know today"
Sorry another common myth. The original Saint Nicholas was a bishop in the 4th century and red was the colour of the ecclesiastical vestments he wore. Furthermore he was portrayed as wearing red by illustrators before the 1930s Coca Cola advert. |

"I actually bought a tree yesterday, I spent about £15 on stuff
woooop.. what colours you go for? "
Got one of those £5 3ft white ones, and stuck red baubles, tinsel and a star on top..
It's not fancy, but I don't have room for a big tree.

I dont have colour schemes as such, I dont stick to matching colours etc but I am a stickler for nice baubles, I like glass ones but have bought quite a few from Accessorize as I like the felt and wooden decorations.
I have to organise where each bauble goes so get quite annoyed if people put them in the wrong place |
