I'm lucky in that part of my work takes me to the cinema and I'll get paid to sit and watch films. If it's a good film I'll watch it if not, I'll just find somewhere to read my book.
Prices are outrageous in the cinema, though. I'm going to have to pay to see the next part of the Hobbit. Since these chaps are about half the size of a human, I'd like half price. On this line, I have no intention of seeing any remakes of the 50 foot woman. |

It has to be a damn good film these days to persuade me to part with the best part of £25 for the two of us, when I can wait for it to come out on Blu-Ray, watch it on a 50" screen and listen in glorious surround sound in the comfort of my own home, with no annoying twats talking, rustling sweet papers and playing with their phones. |

Buying an orange simcard to stick in an old phone and a fiver of credit saved money on the first ticket - 99p plus a fiver versus 6:90 for the ticket we got free!
I still haven't run out of credit and go to orange Wednesdays when I can.
I'm also on showfilmfirst and can get completely free tickets - I saw Saving Mr Banks over a week before it was released and the only outlay was the fuel to get there.
I've also been known to zap a pack of microwave popcorn as I'm leaving the house - a large handbag conceals many things! |

I go often... But on insiders card. It's only 5quid then. Kids wait till kids films are shown in the kids club.. as it's only 2.50 a child and adults go in free with each child |

I love going to the cinema. I have very fond memories of going to see some films.
I went with a friend to see a comedy. I often don't find them funny but this one with a friend we laughed so much. Our tummies hurt from laughing.
Another occasion my friend and I went to see a film and ended up in the wrong screen. What I did to her without realising was hilarious. We still chuckle at that x |

We only recently (year ago) got a cinema in Halifax, before that the nearest was over an hour each way on public transport so I didn't bother going. Now I'll take the kids if there is something worth seeing in the Kids Club showing for £1.75 per person. A few films have come out that I thought I'd like to go see but I've got no one to go with and don't have much child free time anyway. |

I'd go if I was desperate to see the film but otherwise not, it's about the same price to buy on DVD and they come out really quick these days too so it's not long to wait. I'd also go if someone I knew wanted a friend to go with unless the film looked unbearable lol |

We often go to the cinema when we have our monthly "date weekends" in Glasgow. It's not just that we like to see a film but also that after we have to check out of our hotel we need somewhere to go and have a cuddle for a while before we head home in opposite directions for a month.
It's bloody expensive though! Anyone in Glasgow got a room with a TV that we can sit in for the afternoon? |

We don't bother with the cinema anymore as its like being there already when hubby gets a good film on
He just waps on the all round sound and gets the films that are already on at the pictures so its brill
No rattling popcorn and fidgety people
Coffee on tap and comfort
Bliss

We are movie lovers and normally go twice a month at least during the summer release schedule it's normally once a week. I'll normally pick up the blue ray when the films are released too and watch it again on the slightly smaller screen. |

Agree with you on all the anoying points and we hate phones in the cinema, but some films, like Gravity, you just have to see on a big screen, its made for cinema and would loose alot of impact at home, even on a big telly or home system. We actually felt like we had been in space after watching that. |

We love the cinema and go at least once a month, sometimes much more often when there are a lot of good films released at the same time. It is just not the same watching a DVD.
To everyone saying it is expensive, we pay around eight or nine quid each, less than a bottle of wine! |

£9 would get me two bottles of wine though. ... |

We go around once a month, if a decent film is on, been quiet lucky with the selection over the last year or so. When we go we tend to go in the gallery though, it's a little more expensive but you get better seats (basically a little sofa with side tables) a bar, and soft drinks and food is included in the price, so actually works out to a pretty good deal |
