SAD Lamps.

You are probably referring to lamps which have a lower colour temperature. They tend to give off a blue glow. We have fitted low colour temperature lamps throughout our apartment and they do look rather "cool".

Aim for a lamp with a colour temperature of 2700 degrees kelvin. Lamps with a colour temperature of 3500 degrees kelvin tend to give a warm glow.
