hands up firstly ..im not the best passenger in the world as i dont like travelling in cars, buses etc but after a recent 'white knuckle ride' in a car i believe drivers should have to resit their tests about every 3-4 years ..what are your thoughts ??

I think you had better buckle up lol. I think the way tests are now is perfectly fine, could it be the person drove like that to scare intentionally.

I have done that to a few people on the bike, people get nervous when you get your knee down with them on the back

Yeah right...more money making scam for the motorist.

Add to that the rip off insurance premiums, road tax, extortionate fuel prices, parking tickets etc...

Just what we need even more added cost to drive our roads.

Test is not comprehensive enough. Hazard perception should be part of the practical not just theory.

There should definately be skid handling. Of course a good driver shouldn't end up in a skid situation. But learning how to deal with slippy surfaces would cut down on bent motors, injury and insurance claims.

A lot of people forget that passing the test does not make them a good driver. They have just attained the minimum standard required. The skill comes from experience and further training...

Knee down with a pillion?!

Call me old fashioned but I always drive like miss daisy when I'm two up!

Re opening post, more car testing should be brought in - definitely! Could be funded by the savings we would make in NHS costs and accident costs / claims.... Just don't test me on my bike - I ride like a twat 1 up!

No need for more tests, just stop women driving, up the age to 25, for men, and limit car engines to 998cc'c

It's got a good 2 up ride till they're slapping you round the helmet with both hands while you laugh manically :p

But I am always sensible with a pillion, just cause the bike feels so horrible with one :p (an I'm. Noob :p )

Got a section 59 notice for riding like a twat though. It must be wrong to smile a little for having a warning saying "riding in a manner that causes distress or alarm to other road users" :p

Driving is a luxury not a necessity.

The amount of crap so called drivers I see on the road these days makes me thankful that I failed my test all those years ago.

I'm all for drivers having to take a driving test periodically
