I'm considering getting one.
I'm leaning towards an Android one but I'd appreciate comments and recommendations please. What's good What's not? Is an iPad better than an Android/a.n.other? Why? |

I've got a Samsung Galaxy 2.0 - personally I only mainly use it for watching TV, using the internet and sending the odd email. I do also listen to music on it, I subscribe to the google music app.
I find it very user friendly and it holds its charge pretty well. |

I've got an Ipad which is mainly for work and its the badgers Nadgers but if it was purely for personal use i would pick something else such as the Samsung as i think the Ipad is massively overpriced compared to others |

I'm generally anti iPhones and it seems to me iPads are overpriced for what they are. There's also the issue of Flash support to consider.
I have an Android phone and would never consider switching to an iPhone. I'm due an upgrade soon and am hoping to press my service provider to upgrade me to an S4 for free. They're saying it'll cost £150 at the moment, or free if I increase my tarriff by £12/month (!) for 24 months. Sod that. I'm 90% sure I'll get them to agree to upgrade me for free. I do need to change my plan so there will be a small increase but they won't be putting it up by 50%, they can be certain!
What would I use it for? I'm a techie and a gadget fiend, so probably quite a lot! I'm not sure yet of the extent of what they can do but the limits would be well tested. |

Get a iPad if you have a iphone, or want faultless backing up of your valuable pictures etc |

Write, plan, draw, read, research, browse & occasionally play. Have used mine pretty much every day for over 3 years. |

We have a tablet (Samsung tab 2) which my mum bought for the kids to share but I occasionally pinch it.
They use it for playing games, mostly educational and some just fun (all free apps), they take photos and film themselves singing songs and acting out their little plays, they 'type' letters on a word processing type app, they edit pictures, they read ebooks.
To be honest although I do love a gadget, if I had a tablet myself I'd probably use it for the same kind of things I use my mobile for so wouldn't be a point in having one of my own. |

I've got an iPad and I very rarely use my laptop now. I prefer this as it synchs with my iPhone and I can iMessage fellow apple users on it too. I don't know about android ones, depends how much you use it maybe? |

I invested in an Asus MeMo Pad after doing some homework, that Amazon had £50.00 off it when I ordered it helped too.
I use it as a calender / to do list / record of work done, as well as watching catch up TV on it when I'm away overnight. It fits into my coat pocket, and suits me well. |

MS Office won't run on it, but there are plenty of alternatives that will.
