Serious advice, sprinkle water over the stain, and the cover with kitchen roll and then put a book or something heavy on the top and the paper will draw the stain out, job done  |

I've done this on a cream rug. Do not scrub it! You will just rub it right into the fibres. Blot as much as you can with clean paper towel. Then make up a solution of Vanish powder. A good scrub with that will do the trick. I've even got black marks out of my new cream carpet in the spare room from an old wardrobe with Vanish - and those were dry.
Not a mark on it now. Took a couple of applications though. |
