this is the point i made on a similar thread recently.

people here want the fantasy or the sex.

so they look for something more.

on POF they are looking for companionship and so, when they meet someone and hit it off, its not unusual to give someone a taste of honey, hoping they stay around to finish the jar.

however, there are people that just want the sex and dont care about thos that equate sex with feelings of love, and so those that feel hurt by men using them, continue on the same vein.

Prior to the site disappearing up its own arse I found pof to be great for swinging also.

I think a big part of swinging success on there came from the fact its not a swinging site, so basically you won't get as many guys stampeding onto it hoping for instant sexual success, and I found that free from the single male avalanche, many women - even those not actively seeking it - are actually very receptive to the idea of no strings sex with a stranger IF he makes his approach in a gentle and respectful manner

It's a different ball game.

This is (in some ways more) but typically less complicated. If you're finding people to fuck on POF and you're calling it a 'meet' then she's either a total slag or you've led her on. (Both?).

The people on here aren't slags they're just looking for something specific.

That's my take on it.

Both POF and FAB are good. But, actually, I do agree, as I've had many more meets from POF than I have from FAB. I suspect that POF has many more members than FAB, and certainly many more female members (both married and single) than FAB has. The only downside to POF is that the girls (both divorced and single) are invariably looking for a "relationship" rather than swinging. Regardless, its great fun to be on both sites

but as we already know from previous threads, there are people on fab who are also on POF and other dating sites and are using them regularly, I was on POF before FAB and 2 of the dates where also on FAB, thats is how I discovered FAB.

I think in some cases it is because their ego has taken a hit, they expected the same 'success rate' on here, to be able to juggle dates and get everyone dancing to their tune, and it's a bit of a shock to the system - so it helps to rubbish this site.

Having been on both sites, I find that in the main Fab guys are far more honest about what they want as opposed to POF guys being dishonest and deceitful to get what they want. I switched from POF to attending a club as what I was doing felt really unsafe and that eventually led me to Fab. I've been far happier meeting Fab guys than I ever was with POF guys, my head is a lot less messed up just simply because I know where I stand...if only you were all honest about your intentions lads, you would go much further on any site and in real life to...sadly to some its like a sick bed notch game!

The majority of guys I met on POF were dishonest about their intentions or just had more issues that readers digest. It was my last experience on POF that led me to FAB.

The women on POF aren't friendlier they just haven't 'heard it all before' yet

POF is now heavily censored and the owner is quite frankly a control freak considering the rules he has implemented in the last few months but all the wally has done is encourage people on there to be dishonest. I've never been on POF but was on Match about 7 or 8 years ago before I found swinging sites. Met one or two nice guys, a couple of weirdos and a stalker...I'm sticking with Fab, it works fine for me

Joined POF yesterday just to see if it had changed and to see if I could go on a vanilla date.

Same old faces that have been their years, looking for perfection but moaning they get ignored and no dates lol it is a place for the superficial and bores me to be honest.

POF makes me feel quite ugly and worthless.

FAB I get some shit but have also had my eyes opened, met some great people and learnt to look a lot deeper and get to know people.

I think that says it all, I am not cut out for vanilla dating or relationships, shame it has taken me so long to figure it out

I went back to have a look at POF a few weeks ago... and they have tried to clean up their act.... basically because a lot of people were using POF like... well.... FAB!!

plus a lot of women were blocking blokes who were looking for intimate encounters so blokes were lying about there intentions, well more than they already do.. at least they dont have to do that here.......

In less than 24 hours, I have been called a fat ugly cunt by a man in his 40's. I get abuse on here but POF beats the abuse on here hands down.

Most on there are just after sex but don't have the balls to admit it and play games to get it.

I started to explore swinging to improve my confidence and find myself after disastrous vanilla dates so just wanted to see if it had changed.

I now realise I am not vanilla dating material, let alone relationship material. I am a swinger (a novice one) and about time I embraced it.

I like it here, can I stay?

I had a pof vanilla date in Nov. We had a lovely lunch and engaged in good conversation. The time flew past. When I left I received a text to state he couldn't believe I'd left him at the pub (car park... The pub had long closed).

The big difference, people on FAB just seem far broader minded. I can be myself, I don't feel the need to conform to anyones tick list as such.

The men I have met haven't be bothered by my extra weight and embrace it, yet don't mind being seen in public with me either. I feel accepted but also realise there are people full of shit.

Just confirms that I really wpuldn't want a relationship x

If you just want a one to one then yep that is the place to go. Lost count of the one nighters I had from there often from fems who say they seek a relationship. Its bizarre that folk cant just be adult and honest.Also had my first mmf from said site too.

An interesting read but the thread has not changed my view of the difference between the two scenes.

It is still far more socially acceptable for a women to be seen on a dating site rather than a swinging site, as a result much fewer women are on Fab. Having a lot less women, together with it being based on sex creates the Fab dynamic.

More choice because of a more balanced ratio logically points to more success in meeting because women would be competing more with other women, so it's no surprise to me that men have higher success on POF. It is also no surprise that some women on here suggest they feel less desired than on POF. More choice, suppy and demand.

This is only my perception because I have never been on a dating site. I simply don't want to lie about my intentions.
