they are a pain in the arse came round a corner the other day to find 20 odd pensioners on bikes on the wrong side of the road heading toward me wobbling all over the place.
think its some sort of club.
get off the damm road!! half these cyclists have a death wish yes there should be a law  |

The tax argument was done to death on here earlier this week...
But did it really delay you? Or inconvenience yo that much?
And it's not just from the perspective of a cyclist. I ran a half marathon recently where motorists forced their way on to the closed roads as they didn't want to follow the diversions. Or the idiots complaining about the M42 being closed last week because of a guy threatening to jump and tweeting that he should just jump. I could go on... |

in the opinion of my above post it didn't hold me up, but when u come round a blind bend , to face a pensioner wobbling over the wrong side of the rd heading toward you , closely followed by 20 more out of control pensioners, its more worrying for these people lives!! than weather im gonna be a few seconds late to the kebab shop.
its dangerous and i know its gonna sting them more than it does me if they get hit, but no one wants to see people get hurt why do the cyclists not see this   |

I'm struggling to understand how they were on the wrong side of the road and you went round a blind bend and didn't hit them? Surely that means they were on the right side of the road?
Obviously I wasn't there, but I think some motorists do have a tendency to exaggerate the dangers and inconveniences poised by cyclists. Which isn't intended to downplay the fact that some cyclists can be selfish inconsiderate tossers.
I have bounced off a car twice (neither time my fault) and it hurts. It hurts a lot. And that's when you get up and walk away relatively unscathed. Most cyclists are very much aware of that. In the same way as most motorists are aware that things like drink driving, speeding, texting are all moronic. I don't judge all motorists by those types yet many motorists judge all cyclists by the worst ones that they encounter. Or in some cases they judge an overblown exaggerated non existent stereotype.
Our roads are crowded that isn't going to change. And all the trends suggest the numbers cycling will continue to increase. Life is easier for all road users when we accept that we all have to share the roads. |
