my life is only viewed exclusively (and literally) through my eyes. This is would probably be the same opinion you have in your head. But because I'm me and arrogantly because that's how my conscience (if that's the right word) sees it. What does that make you?
Is the world in my eyes, like viewing it on a TV screen? a bit like Truman in the Truman show? everyone else is just an actor or actress in my own personal soap opera?
When you look at an aircraft in the sky, logic dictates there are humans aboard. But rarely do you see anyone in it from the perspective of where you're viewing it, such jumbo jets flying high in the sky. so is there actually anyone on board?
so if I'm just me, in this impossibly fantastic, gigantic universe, what adventures or potentially life altering decisions will I undertake. and for what is the purpose in it all.
Sorry if that makes no sense. But I thought I'd put it out there. I do hope, however, I get a response, it took me long enough to write it on my phone, lol x |

I think I get where you're coming from. I always think when I hear the expression "the world doesn't revolve around you" that in actual fact every bodies worlds do revolve around them. It's inescapable, it doesn't mean we don't consider others, just that everything is from our own perspectives. |

this is why i dont like people saying 'what have you got to worry about, there are people in (enter third world country here)starving. you have no worries'
well, ok, comparitively yes, i have no worries, but its all objective isnt it.
now, to someone having no food for the day is a crisis, or having nowhere to live
but to some that dont have to worry about that kind of thing, because its always been there, and prospectively always going to be there, a broken nail before a night out is a crisis, or no humous.
life is objective.
my crisis wont be yours, and yours will seem petty to me, but they are all crisies and are thusly all valid |

I can't turn the stuff in my life into something less stressful because people are worse off.
If I was in a third world country I probably wouldn't find it stressful. |

Its the same with pain. If you have a papercut on your finger it can be all consuming. Thete will be people fighting for their lives with legs blown off.... We can empathise with them, but our cut is still paiful. The world does centre around you, it has to. In fact it does not really centre around anyone else. Good thread |

"There is a LOT of research going on right now in quantum physics about the holographic nature of the universe and how an individual's mind actually affects matter. Google holographic universe. "
Interesting read, although I found a article that dispelled the theory due to a gamma ray burst from space not being fuzzy at small dimensions.
However, I certainly think the human mind is capable of amazing things if left to be confident and think can do.
After working for a company for 23 years and being very can do I made amazing things happen. Then new management fired me violently, took a year to get another job. Two years later i was violently fired again, took nearly two years to get another job. Now much less confident, unsure of can do and its very different.
The mind can build you a world that is amazing or shit, its easy to say and hard to do, but believe and it will happen. Perhaps we are in a hologram powered by thought. |
