I think OP what hottie says is true, no man can see what you've put as your sexuality until they look at your profile. Also, your user name has the word 'bear' in it which is a gay term for one of those moustachioed big guys who use twinks. So maybe that could be a reason. I have to say with a username like bear409 I'd automatically assume you were gay. As someone said it's a common discription in the gay community.

Think you'll also find that a high percentage of women browse on stealth mode as already said.
