I run a small online radio station only plays rock music. do people actually use the net for music or do they just listen to youtube allday, my station has a lot of regular listeners and just wondered what most do for music these days as long gone are the days of swapping cassettes and cds |

They have devices which detects "Tune ins" I don't what that device is.
TV Shows can do the same thing aka TV Ratings is done by amount of viewers per se. |

"I've always wondered how radio stations calculate how many listeners they have?" They use a system like shoutcast ..so when someone logs to your station their IP address counts as a listener. but if there are more then 1 person in the house tuned in on more then one device it only registers 1 person, the big stations rely on poles to see whos tuned to what etc same as they used to do the charts as far as I know
