Masked and Distant

Like first day at high school.

All the other kids have been there longer and know each other.

Newkid cant get a word in and sits quietly in the corner hoping someobe will say hi.

Going to persevere you never know if I hang around long enough someone else may become the newbie

Chatroom or forum?

We were all newbies once, even those that were here 5 years ago had to start somewhere.

Just join in with threads, enjoy the banter and I'm sure you wont feel like the newbie for much longer. I know when I first joined the boards 18 months (ish) ago I was quickly made to feel welcome.

Thanks for replting, forums are good.

I enjoy it in here.

Chatrooms have so many people in its so hard to strike up a conversation, and feel rude butting in. Imagine a real room full of 170 people you dont know talking, and the lights are out so you cant see them all.......daunting.

Still as I said, sticking it out, Im a stubborn so and so

I was the same but I was lucky in the fact I just kept making stupid comments and got noticed. The more I went in the more people spoke to me

Go ahead and butt in. Laugh cry rant, saying your piece and showing your personality will soon get you noticed.

just remember to stay within the forum rules, controversial can be fine but try not to cause offence.

happy fabbing

Try the regional rooms rather than the directing rooms, they have fewer people in them and go at a slower pace.
