Do you know who represents you?

From Parish Council to District or Borough and beyond that to MPs.

How many unpaid Councillors are there for the good of the community or for their benefit and self interests.

Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound

I know the name of my councillor, the lead member, my member of parliament and the chairs of the CCGs and the LEP.

I know my Local MP and have spoken to him on a few occasions and he has helped me sort out a couple of problems too and yes he is very active in the community for other people's benefit - not his own

I am troubled by the Parish Councils.

I would say most subjects revolve around too much dog shit on pavements, playground vandalism and can we afford to stick a new bus shelter up. To most people this is general monotony that wouldn't interest them.

So I'd suggest most people in their communities wouldn't have a clue who represents them, until a major topic occurs.

Parish Councils are a strange beast (we don't have them in London). Most local politics end up being about dog shit, street lights, bus shelters and pavements as that is what the public go on about. There is so much more.

Yes, he does the bus shelters.

We also have a number of boroughs with elected mayors for the dog poo.

and to those of you claiming not to know who our PM is, it is CAMERCLEGG

He's a nice guy with a blue tie, but he has a rather large annoying growth that he can't seem to get rid of.
