ok, me on a good day is just beaming, full of energy and driving my OH nuts with wanting to do lots of things - too many to cram in if I think about it. But there is that desire, that buzz.... |

I just wondered whether it is about feeling good because we are lucky to live ina moderate climate, a war free zone and we have enough to eat and clothes to wear as well as friends we can trust.
That said... there is feeling good.... and feeling REALLY good |

But British people are known for being able to complain about anything. I think its just normal for us to not want to say we feel great, just in case. |

It is not my experience of Britain tbh. I would say that British people are more polite when they complain though. |

Its just one of those things you read about - Americans are loud and brash, French are sexy, Germans don't have a sense of humour, and British people moan a lot. |

I quite agree that that is the stereotypical assessment of the different nationalities. I have not found that to be true for any of the above. I have found "not loud" but sophisticated Americans, French people who were not primarily sexy, Germans who were able to laugh at themselves and certainly British people who did nto complain. The media try and tell us what to think of other nationalities... they ask us to rate football matches in terms of previous wars and all sorts of other rubbish. Thankfully, like you and I...most people think for themselves |
