If its the top wisdom tooth, its a doddle having it out...had both of mine out couple years back, and didn't believe the dentist when he said 'right you're all done'!! |

"Well I've broken me wisdom tooth so just been to the dental hospital i have to go back tomorrow to have it out and i hate dentist....anyone fancy a day trip "
My absolute sympathy - my fear of the dentist is well documented
Word of advice - whatever they offer you medication wise - TAKE IT! xx |

I just about cry when I have to go there. Had a root canal done recently. Honestly wasn't as bad as I remembered but once I had finished I had to sit in the car for about 10mins before I stopped shaking. |

The best way to get over the dentist is to put your trust in their ability to prevent any pain before they start with their huge massive drills that make my makita look like a feather duster. Don't worry about the loud whirring sound, as it comes towards your mouth. Try to ignore the thought of the blood spurting all over the place and the suction device they use, this will suck up all the red juicy stuff before you have chance to swallow from your dry mouth. As you look up into their nostrils, just look to see if they are flaring outwards and their breathing gets faster and faster. It don't matter that they were the star performer in the film Hostel. Once it is done and you stagger, sorry nimbly walk from the room take refuge in the fact that your smile will be as gorgeous as it currently is. See how I make you feel better already. xx |

I'm having mine out on Tuesday after having it repaired 2 months ago and getting abscess after abscess. I hate the dentist but quite excited as it means no more pain killed. |

I'm lucky that I've never been worried about going to the dentist.
I had to have a root canal of an upper molar last year, (a surprise one, on my birthday. I turned up and she said oh, I think we should do a root canal!), and having heard bad things I was a little concerned, but it was no problem. I needed painkillers for a day afterwards but that was all.
Sometimes I think pain comes from expecting pain - a self fulfilling prophecy thing. |

"No its the bottom one
You'll be fine!
I had a bottom one done before at least its not root canal "
I had mine removed as they supposedly had a shadow round the crowns on the xray(they had never come through and were sideways). He said it might be sign of infection, it wasn't and I had never had a problem, he was just securing further income. Went to Hope Hospital, both out under a general, looked like a hamster/prize fighter for a week, REALLY bad pain, slivers of tooth coming through for weeks, the gums did not heal for weeks, and I still have adry socket 18 months later. Still, don't let me scare you! |

They won't suddenly appear. If they don't show up on x-rays, they aren't there. I don't have any either.
My dentist says it's not uncommon to be born without them but I can't remember the exact percentage. |

I haven't got any wisdom teeth either.
I'm not scared at all of the dentist, well not of any procedure or needles etc. The worst part for me is the closeness they have to get.
It depends on how deep your roots are, hopefully the extraction is quick and easy |

I was lucky with wisdom teeth, because i had to have teeth removed top and bottom to fit a brace when i was a very young teen, all my wisdom teeth had room to come through and fill the gaps. |

Hope today goes well for you cheeky.
I had a crown a couple of weeks ago and the injection, drilling and everything was fine, he fitted a temp one and told me to come back in 2 weeks. It was getting the temp one pinged off and the permanent one fitted that made my toes curl!! No numbing for that and omg!! Exposed nerves and cement not a good combination!
Last extraction I had was no problem apart from feeling like my face was swollen till the anaesthetic wore off. I think the anticipation is always worse than the actual thing. Good luck x |
