This isn't a physical thing that doesn't exist more but.......
If we wanted to carry music about with us, it generally meant taping the charts on a Sunday and trying to hit pause at the right time so you cut out the voice overs. |

"Children playing in the streets "
We had an end of summer street party. There are only 65 houses on our street. I was shocked at the amount of kids, young people there, I'd never seen any of them in the ten years I've lived here because kids don't play out: sad. |

Still is in this house, no phones allowed at the dinner table either. And dinner is always taken at the table, never on the couch. |

"Reading all these memories has made me smile - and makes me glad I'm not a kid now. I think our lives were richer and more fun back then."
I can't help but agree. Growing up through the 80's was so much better than it is now. Kids can't do half of what we were almost encouraged to do back then for fear of ending up with an ASBO. |

Single screen cinemas with a circle and stalls, double features and the halftime usherette with tubs of vanilla icecream and little wooden spoons and plastic tasting Kiora orange drink that made you more thirsty. All that and change from a fiver including tickets to film. |
