after my great 4k effort on Wednesday i went for a run today at the gym but as i had only had 4 biscuits all day (got to the gym at about 1pm) i just couldnt do it...i only managed 1.5k before feeling a bit wobbly.
I decided to move to a sit down exercise and did 10k on the bike instead and some other weights as well.
What do you eat before exercising and ow long do you have to leave it after eating before exercising so you dont throw up? |

Don't overload yourself but toast and banana, or porridge are great starters for the day. Leave half an hour between food and exercise.
The important thing is to refuel yourself after the exercise ... |

Ouch Evie! Try banana and oatmeal before you go, plus make sure to have some water in your system. Make sure you've eaten at the very least an hour before you exercise though.
It's best to snack about an hour afterwards and keep supping the water. A big meal right afterwards isn't a great idea. Try an egg or two to start storing up on protein again. |

Don't under estimate the importance of the previous days food.
You have to find works for you. I'm envious of those who only need to eat an hour before. Personally it's a minimum of 2 hours for me for anything of substance. I ran a half marathon on Saturday and was up before 6 to eat breakfast!
But also research fasted training if eating breakfast is a real chore. Training just on water (not even a tea or coffee) does work and gets great results. |

Anywhere between 30min to hour before but remember you want to eat to feel satisfied not till your full and bloated or the food will feel like it's sitting there on your tummy the whole session hope this helps good luck |

"On a training day, scrambled eggs and turkey rashers. With nuts for after training.
Breakfast on a normal day is porridge or oat cakes with peanut butter. "

"I run and work out fasted. But that's my choice, I follow the leangains principle of 16:8, even when not working out."
Yes working out fasting is big at the mo on the basis that you get past 24 hours and your body uses fat as eng source me myself it's not for me I been working out 14years and always done the same and it works for me but fasting does work I seen it |

I try and leave up to an hour after eating before going on a 3 mile run, but will usually have a coffee about half an hour before hand. The trick is to make sure I go to the loo before warming up and running. Nothing worse than being halfway round a run and being distracted by a full bladder |

Yes. This is why I refuse to move. It's so easy to go for a run and not have to plan a route. Straight out and back again. |

"Well I did 5k in 40.13 last week and I've just done it in 37.38. Slightly more respectable time. Gonna start pushing the distance up now rather than trying to cut my time I think x "
My suggestion would be a mixture of both. Break the sessions into a mixture of run/walks. |

Sometimes stopping and starting to catch your breath can be a good thing
Just think of it as doing an interval or a fartlek session |
