one time it would have been John Pertwee even though I likes him in Worzel Gummidge, but now its David Tennant....

I think it depends on youre age same as who is your favourite James Bond

My Doctor was Jon Pertwee/Tom Baker, but David Tennant is top of my shaggable Doctors, closely followed by Matt Smith, though I initially didn't think he'd be any good

Tom Baker, Sylvester McCoy & Peter Davison as thats who i remember growing up

No doubt if my daughter or nephew were asked it would likely be Smith, Tenant & Eccleston as they think ofbthem as the doctor

I think of Dr Who as a series split in two, the old Dr Who and the new, so I have a favourite old Dr Who, Tom Baker, and a favourite new Dr Who, David Tennant.

Without a doubt the greatest dr. People tend to only think of the current 'modern' drs.

"Christopher Eccleston without a doubt "

A top notch Brit flick actor who gave it a gritty edge. Perfect for the doctor's 21st century makeover

Really not much of a Dr Who fan but I did think Christopher Eccleston was great and was a bit sad when he only did one series.

"I think of Dr Who as a series split in two, the old Dr Who and the new, so I have a favourite old Dr Who, Tom Baker, and a favourite new Dr Who, David Tennant."

it is officially now.

the original run from 63 - 89 plus the Paul McGann single is collectively known as Classic Who.

the current series from 2005 is known as Nu Who

to answer the question Pat Troughton for me.

Titz Towers, North Notts

Peter Davidson was fun, however, David Tennant added some depth, but was aided by the BBC spending some money on the show. I did like Sylvester McCoy, but by the time he was the Doctor, the show was heading down the pan, with a budget to suit.

I have grown to love Matt Smith. I think he has been a fantastic doctor and while their have been some poor episodes with him, The Angels Take Manhatten and A Good Man Goes to War are both fantastic episodes
