as long as there is taters and corned beef in , then the sky is the limit. |

I've seen it done layered but I do mine with lots of corned beef, mashed potato, onions, whatever seasoning you fancy then I put it in a oven dish with grated cheese on top and shove it under the grill!! X |

The way my mum and now me make it ......
Cook potato and onion, drain and mash, add cubed corned beef, mash again. Drain top juice from a tin of baked beans, add and stir in. Put into an oven proof dish, top with cheese, put in oven til cheese is melted and crispy

"Stovies are so much nicer than cornbeef hash and just as easy to make
What are stories?
stovies, like a barncake arent they?"
No , layers of thinly sliced onions and potatoes cooked slowly in a big pan with as my mum used to do it a big dollop of lard and a small amount of water then when cooked corned beef put through it.
That was how my mum use to make it but there are variations of it depending on where in Scotland you're from. |
