I was in boots the other week trying to make my mind up on which of the mens aftershaves to buy

after a while of squirting each scent onto my hand and sniffing them I was stil no closer to buying anything

what aftershaves do the women on here prefer the smell of?

which type do you guys prefer?

I love nice aftershaves and Chanel for men used to be a fave but I also admit I quite like a lynx fragrance too although it does bring with it nice memories

London

As little as possible is the answer to that.

A little bit to give a suggestion of something classy and clean is all you need. Wandering around in a cloud of anything is very off-putting, tasting it is even worse.

My personal favourites are anything that smells 'clean'. Penhaligons brand mighty expensive but absolutely gorgeous.

I like Armani diamonds and code. Mania is good too.

Lacoste red, polo sport and ck one shock deserves a mention too.

But that's what works with me, they react differently to different people.

Agree whole heartedly - I can never understand why you'd buy someone something that they haven't tried for themselves

Nothing worse than ending up smelling like dog's breath

That said I like most Hugo Boss aftershaves myself

A way of finding out if an aftershave suits a man is to spray some on your wrist, let it dry and then taste it...

If it tastes bitter then it's not for you, but if it tastes sweet its the one for your skin type..Buy it

It's probably one of those ones you love or hate. I nearly fell over the first time I smelled it on the dance floor, but I thought it was Grey Flannel which used to send me when I was at college, but has since been totally reformulated and ruined.

I rarely wear aftershave. I still have half a bottle of trevor sorbie i bought about 10 years ago. Have never had any girl notice that i don't have aftershave and asked why, so don't think that girls are bothered about what a guy smells like? or am i wrong?

Surely you have to try different scent samples on different days. There's always going to be an overhang from the previous one, even if you wash your hands and wrists between sampling.

Me? I use YSL M7 but it's getting harder to find
