Unless your going to sell a very different range of products than anyone else OR you have a vast amount of capital to put in to take on the big boys , forget it , you will lose a lot of money .

like everything nowdays , the big companys have buying power to keep prices low, cant see how a small guy could compete, they probably sell things cheaper than you can buy them.

however if you specialize or have a good selling angle you should be able to make a living, like anne summers with the private partys ect, maybe you could talk to a club and have try and buy partys , or even tour the club sceen, many peeps don't buy online as you cant see the item and many more are to shy to go to high street shops

We thought about this a while ago, went as far as opening the website but the main thrust (ooer missus) was going to be party plan where couples could attend, also dedicated parties for TVs (we had awesome shoes available up to size 12) unfortunately, despite the stuff being much better quality than the tat available at the time we just didn't get the volume of sales to make it worthwhile.

We had good fun trying though

If you've got pockets deep enough to get the stock, advertise and maintain it then go for it. There is a lot of competition though.

Rather than have a website, why don't you look at opening a 'store' on ebay. Sarah x

Oh, we also looked at the dropshipping route which negates the need for stock but on a few test runs (on items we actually had in stock so we had back up) the warehouse was out of stock so that is a waste of time as well.

I did this a few years ago and although I got a few orders it just wasn't worth it.

Good luck if you go ahead

The advertising is good on ebay but it comes at a price (10% + Paypal fees) which kills it. Also you are limited to what you can sell.

There are many ways to go, depending on how much money you have to risk.

£100 to £500

Drop shipping, you become an agent for a manufacturer or large company, like Love honey, advertise and get orders, and earn a percentage of the sale.

You find the customers, take an order, get the money, the goods are sent direct from manufacturer or supplier.

£5k to £50k if you know about marketing and web placement ( ie, to get hits on your site )

Create a web site, find a supplier, advertise the goods, get the order and money in, then buy the goods and have them dispatched by your supplier, avoids rent, staff costs and stock holding.

Above £50k, visit china, order stock, then come back and sell it, more potential profit, but risky.

What ever you do, firstly ask yourself why you want to do it, and how you can do it better than whats already available.

Decide how much you need to earn, decide your U.S.P. and go for it.

Because there is so much competition on line, make buying fun, house parties, club promotions, demonstrations, make spending money fun,

Good luck and I hope you have some great ideas.

like any business its finding a hole, and filling it!

party plan, as in ann summers extreme?

have thought about something like that ourselves.

with couples

toy play orgies, but not just using them, actually letting people try them out on each other, and others, and buying their favourites...

What a shame! I have only sold on a personal account on ebay so did not realise the fees, this would have an impact for sure.

Personally, go with your gut. As others said if you can afford to. It could be one of those that flop or one that excels... either way these are all 'what could be'... a term almost as annoying as 'what if' xx
