i just watched something on cable that made a lil bit of throw up come up, gastric band surgery and im a nurse ffs!!! |

Why do most of them start off saying
"Well, it got this bad because I was too embarressed to see the Doctor..." and here they are on National TV showing everyone. Bit of a change of heart, surely???? |

Prompted by this thread I watched this evening's programme.
I couldn't help but be moved by the plight of an 8 year old lassie who life was blighted by what the physician described as 'the worst case of veruccas I've ever seen'. I turns out the bairn has an immune system deficiency and the programme has got her into a long term treatment plan, possibly including sibling bone marrow transplant. So far so OK.
But. What in the name of sanity allowed the parents - both seemingly educated and definately articulate - to allow their daughter's condition to deteriorate to such an extent and then offer her up as ratings fodder on telly?
