I read this little article in today's Liverpool Echo which just goes to show how one should restrain oneself from risky bets.
A Ugandan man called Henry Dhabasani, a passionate Arsensl fan bet his best mate Rashid Yiga that the gunners would beat Manchester United at Old Trafford last weekend.
The price of the wager? Dhabasani put his family home on the line while Yiga staked his Toyota Premio car plus his wife!!!
The two put thier stake in writing with the local leaders and supporters witnessing the deed. Dhabasani, married to 3 wives with 5 kids fainted at the end of the match on realising that Arsenal had lost 1-0.
On Monday several Man Utd fans stormed Dhabasani's house and three him and his family out.
It certainly puts into perspective the tenner I risk annually on The Grand National |
