"We are thinking of getting one. What are the running costs and is it worth it? "
In terms of electricity usage I have a friend or two with hot tubs and apparently it's around £5 a week to maintain the temperature. But one also said he often wants to cry when the time comes to empty, refill and heat up (every 3 months does that sound right?).
I'm assuming there's various potions you need to put in for cleaning purposes but wouldn't have a clue what they cost. Hopefully someone more helpful will come along lol |

why I will never never go in them at clubs ..... I have my own and clean water every 3/4 weeks and topped up all the time . You read on here about them loving sex in the hot tub at clubs and cumming all over the place yukkkkkkkkkk no shower after that would make me feel clean . Its not my things and could never relax in there knowing its full off whatever ... Yes I know they clean but all that make my skin itch for weeks after so I will never go in at clubs. |

It tops up automatic like pool do. So I know its all clean but still like it all out every month as I hate loads chemicals in the water make my skin itch like mad .. |

Lived in the mountains over at Canada and everyone had them and were used after skiing for fun and frolics, some of the water looked gross!!! |

We have Hot Tub in our garden house. Every 12 week need to change water + after every proper party. Need to use chemicals which are not cheap. All together for all 2013 we spent already aprox 700gbp. |

Ones in clubs are different to home ones...they do need more chlorine and bigger filteration systems...but changing the water once a month and using chlorine tablets in a floatation cage does keep the water a lot cleaner and clearer than treating it a few times a week... |

you can get all sorts from dirty water things like Water warts and other things . When you see people loads in and out of hot tubs and playing having sex in water and maybe not a shower before they get in ............ its not good no matter if they keep putting stuff in to keep it clean .. |

We have had pools and hot tubs years and are lovely to have. We rent out houses for holidays to people and so we have to make sure in tip top order. I am very fussy about things being clean, I have to be as now everything get put on net with re-views and you soon know if things not right.
