After installing Picasa and having to system restore after it fucked up my laptop I have realised Chrome is causing problems too (slow to start up etc)

What are the best free internet browsers for Windows 7?

I have firefox installed too but never really liked it.

I use chrome... If you're finding chrome slow check the extensions and make sure you havent inadvertently ended up with any you weren't aware of

I use Firefox as my main browser for years. Highly recommended.

The new IE 10 seems to be better than the previous versions, but not my personal favourite.

Never really used Chrome much, but have it installed for testing purposes.

My advice, whatever your choice is: go easy on the extensions, they can make any browser slow and heavy. Be careful with offers to install add ons and toolbars.

Click up the top right.. usually 3 horizontal bars.. and either extensions from the menu or if it's not there click settings and then you'll find extensions down the left hand side x
