I've never thought of taking a gift to a meet. I might consider it now though, seems a nice way to start things off.
On a side note (but still related) I went on a date with a girl off a different site last year and she brought a plant as a gift. It was our first date by the way. I was a bit thrown by it, but pleased. Then she told me that I can't touch the flowers as they are poisonous! Strange but true I tells ya. Needless to say, it scared me and I gingerly kept it in my spare room window for about a couple of weeks until it seemed to die (I am useless at taking care of normal plants, let lone poisonous ones) and I threw it away. |

"Would you bring a gift on the first meet?? What would it be??? "
Depends on if I chat to the person or if it was a quick meet if I chat to them maybe as I'd have an idea of what they like so could treat them but if it was a quick meet maybe not as I think it would be a bit freaky turning up with a gift x |

"It clearly states that chocolates are required on my profile but no one has ever brought any with them to a meet.
A certain someone bought you owls though. I think they were owls? "
Yes, but they weren't for me. |

If I wanted to annoy her I would bring her a massive bouquet of flowers especially it was a social and she had to carry them around for the evening .
Best bet is to ask " do you want me to bring anything " |

Am I the only one who would feel a bit weird about a meet turning up with gifts? The only time it's happened is with someone I'd met several times before and consider a friend, and it was a bottle of champagne on my birthday! If someone I had never met before turned up with chocolates or something I would feel a little uncomfortable! |

Must admit I don't get the whole gift thing...not with a new meet anyway. I have bought bits of things for guys I know well and my FB, but nothing proper...just gag gifts really |
