No no no your quite right, the toast needs to be buttered right, if not the whole of civilisation is at risk, you might as well put the milk in the tea first, madness ![](/icons/s/confused.gif) |

"People buttering my toast really should pay attention to getting the butter all over the toast and not just the middle.
I likes every bit covered.

Tsk, you can't get the staff nowadays. And I must admit, I do require a specific combination of hot toast and cold butter. And, while we're on the subject, all the holes in a crumpet filled. |

"Nothing worse than dry crusts "
OMG you have crusts? how very common, my housekeeper would be whipped if she presented toast at my table with crusts on, the crusts are always removed for the staff kitchen! |

"OMG shop bought butter, if my housekeeper didn't churn the milk and produce butter pats for my table she would be whipped!"
This is a crossover to the 'when we were kids' thread coz we got our arses hit with 'the butter-patter' (very superlative) when I was at school. And now a whip as well. It just gets better and butter ![](/icons/s/mrgreen.gif) |

Totally agree with that, but what has it got to do with toast "
It's the proper application of butter, that's the key to the OP! |
