There are a lot of TV's to choose from and bearing in mind that although new models are updated every couple of months, the technology behind the frame is the same.
What you also need to remember is that there are only a handful manufacturers, such as LG, Samsung plus a few more who actually make and supply the screens to other brands.
So don't be put off by brand names such as Samsung as an example, as they also supply to other names.
Although Samsung are the market leaders, I would say that their R&D in technology is probably by far the most advanced than most.
You can't go wrong with a Samsung. Picture quality is amazing, connectivity is brilliant as is their customer service. |

Pop in or look on line at Richers Sounds good choice of TV's.
LED, Plasma, etc.
Personally for Blu rays and DVD I have a 60" Panasonic Plasma (great for fast motion and 'black backgrounds'), but for the bedroom we have an LG LED which my partner finds easier on her eyes. My daughter loves her Samsung plasma.
Currently a 60" SAMSUNG PS60F5500 for around £950 With FREE 5 Year Guarantee
There is a lot of choice, look and listen you will find something that you like.

Don't bother with 3D, they'll all be pulling out of that soon and using 4K as the new excuse to make you part with your money!
Most TV's from reputable brands these days are pretty good, just read some reviews and find one that renders blacks and handles motion well...and has half-decent sound unless you're pushing that through an A/V system.
LG, Sony, Samsung, Panasonic, Toshiba and Phillips all make decent sets |

My only advice would be to make sure the room is big enough to get far enough away to appreciate it properly. |
