Am I the only paying member who finds it annoying that some people regularly try and coax others away from this onto Skype. If we all stopped paying and went skyping, where would this site be ?. Other 'chat' sites give out bans to people doing this as it lowers the numbers onsite, making it less attractive to everyone else. |

That's the whole point. This is a meeting place, and whatever folk choose to do once they have met is their choice.
You might as well say that any sexual encounters that are arranged by people meeting on fab must be broadcast in the chatrooms via video link. |

True I agree, but by repeatedly calling for people to leave the site and go join them on Skype takes those cams away from everybody else. Less cams all the time, less members. |

I am not sure why you think that would happen, they are not competing sites.
We use something along the lines of skype to have a camchat when deciding on arranging a meet not to find meets on it or replace what we are on here for |

Not a problem as far as I'm concerned. Some prefer 1 on 1 or to use it to verify genuine without every tom dick and Harry seeing their faces. Skype and fab are totally different sites.
Surely then you must think that kik, whatsapp etc shouldn't be allowed to be mentioned either then as they are taking chats/pic sharing etc away from fab?. |

Which is only an issue to those preoccupied with watching webcams!!
The site is free and has facilities that not everyone uses - cam rooms included. If you're worried about less cams being available then there's a whole world of porn out there you know! 
I suspect those asking others to join them on skype are simply looking for privacy or 1-2-1 contact - which they are perfectly entitled to!  |

We'll since we have been on which is over 18 months we haven't noticed a drop in the number of cams. If people want to cam privately that is there choice and getting upset that you can't see there cam seems very childish |

In 5 odd years I don't think I've ever seen that on a profile!
And OP - seeing as you've stated that you'll never get yourself a cam - doesn't complaining about the actions of those who do own one not seem a tad hypocritical?  |

I've just actually added no skype to mine about 10 minutes ago as I've had a few messages over last couple of days asking for it from people I've never spoken to at all. |

Um a quick Google search will find you several options of how to grab any video feed you are watching to a file. So any cam from anywhere can be captured edited re-used for nefarious or maybe even farious purposes As for Skype, yep but only with people we know. Fab Chatrooms... No way! can't put up with the constant hello's and hard to follow conversations. |

Ive cammed for over 12 years been on this site for 6, others that have now disappeared. So hypocritical, no, just done my time perhaps? |

My complain about skypers was and is , that they come to this free site, not paying, get in a chatroom and call for people to leave and go Skype, ive used Skype, with people ive chatted to, not tried to remove them from one site for my own personal pleasure. I love this site and would hate to see its declin as ive seen on others before. So hypocritical and childish maybe  , but cares about a sight that needs fee payers to continue, most definitely. |

I pay, only used the chat room once. Not all paying members want cam sessions. If I wanted one would it matter if it was via Skype? It wouldn't stop me coming back |

is skype a cam chatroom type affair?
i thought it was all about talking to people you already know, or am i wide of the mark?
skype will never take people away from this site, end of.
you cant meet random people on skype can you? you already have to have their contact details surely??
would be more worried about twitter possibly taking the contact element away from this site than skype on its own. |

Skype is about using it with people you already know, I know ive done it, what I don't do is go to a chatroom and ask people I have never chatted to leave one site to join me on it |

Skype is a form of communication, like a telephone call, a text, e-mail, carrier pigeon...... its point to point, mainly so people can talk in private or verify themselves using the cam. Fab is a meeting place, people get to know each other using initial messages and photos then they move onto the other forms of communication away from the site, its how most sites work, whether its a sex site or a dating site? Where is the problem and why does that annoy you? |

Skype is a form of communication, like a telephone call, a text, e-mail, carrier pigeon...... its point to point, mainly so people can talk in private or verify themselves using the cam. Fab is a meeting place, people get to know each other using initial messages and photos then they move onto the other forms of communication away from the site, its how most sites work, whether its a sex site or a dating site? Is it ? Why ? We've spoken to people on here then skyped with them for privacy because Fab doesn't have a 1 to 1 cam function. When we've finished we go back into the chatroom. Why is that an issue ? |

whenever we are asked to go on skype its never in the chatrooms, so your concerns really still dont hold water |

But is that any different from asking them to move to PM? Its a private chat away from the open glare of the rest of the chatroom? They are not asking people to leave Fab.... they are asking for a private chat. |

I think that people that refuse flatout to talk about anything on here and want to move to skype straightaway are people id be wary of,there are some that use this site to attract people on to pay site through skype
Id just be extra careful with these sorts of offers
Skype is crap anyway so I never use it  |
