Flying out to benidorm on Thursday. I have some Viagra I would like to take.
I gave hand luggage only on a jet2 flight.
Is it legal and what are the regulations around this???
Any advice appreciated. |

It's the same as any prescription only drug. To be on the safe side make sure you take the box with your name on the prescription label or a copy of the prescription but that is a bit 'belt and braces'. I doubt if anyone will really be interested in it. |

Confused, if you 'don't believe it to be illegal' then what's the problem.
However its not prescribed either can you explain to the authorities how you came by them legally.
On the other hand just leave them at home and buy some out there over the counter in the chemist. |

If they find something worth confiscating they'll generally do a full and rigorous search of all your belongings to ensure you're not carrying anything else.
This could hold up your travel and be a total pain in the arse.
If you can buy them legitimately and cheaply over the counter out there it would probably be preferable. |

If they are prescription only drugs you need to show they were got on prescription even if it was a private one.

Think it would be much easier for you to just buy once you are there. As you are unsure of regulations around them you'll be getting all hot and bothered at the bag search area  |

You must remember that Airport Security are only really interested in the safety of the flight. Sure, the local plod or customs may have asked to be informed if they find certain things but that is not security's primary focus. |

I travel through Alicante airport frequently and take quite a lot of prescribed medication with me. I have yet to be stopped by security to explain my medication so its not likely to be a problem. Anyway most of the security guards are probably using it themselves don't worry about it, take it with you and have some fun. |

Whatever you do, don't do this. Concealing anything no matter how innocent it is, if found, will look suspicious and will be treated as a possible 'dry run' meaning plod will get involved. They will take their time investigating every part of your life and even though you are innocent you will probably miss your flight. |

Probably not, but best place would be to pack it in your checked in suitcase, so much less hassle. and once you have checked it in problem is solved. it will be xray'ed, but 4 tablets are not going to trigger alarms. of course if your suitcase is full of actual contraband there may be issues for you to face... but 4 tabs in with your wash kit are not going to bother anyone.

We would agree with that. We regularly bring generic Viagra back from Spain to Germany and have never had a problem at either end. |

What's the worst that can happen ? They take the four pills of you and you've lost £8. Not the end if the world is it.
Putting stuff in your wallet is not concealing it. Otherwise they'll accuse you of concealing money.
Just put it in your wash bag or in a clear bag with your liquids. They won't give a shit. You are hardly a master criminal or ever likely to be if you shit yourself over less than £10 worth of contraband. |
