Christmas decorations - November too early?
Jump to: Newest in thread
We have noticed that where we live alot of people already have their Crimbo decs up including Andys brother.
Ours are not going up until December so we are just wondering does anyone else think putting them up now is a tadd to early lol |

A guy near us puts his xmas decs up outside on Halloween. Saddo's. We put ours up sometime in December... when we can be arsed. No set time.
They always come down New Year's Eve though |

We always think twelve days before and twelve days after is more than enough, otherwise its all a bit overkill. In fact, in recent years ours come down on Jan 2nd. |

It's very vulgar to put your decorations up in November. Even worse are those people who never take porch ones down |

The weekend before the 25th is soon enough - IF you have kids.
No kids? Don't bother at all. |

Far too early, traditionally the decorations were put up on Christmas Eve and were up for the 12 days of Christmas which ends on January 5th, though often taken down before that.
Putting them up early takes the magic out of it and stops it being special.
We can understand shops being early because of Christmas shopping but not private houses.

I don't do xmas, though I celebrate the solstice week. Went in to a shop yesterday that was playing xmas musak - held my hands to my ears so the assistants knew my feelings, and walked out |

Far too early!
Ours normally go up around 12th December and by Boxing day I have enough of them.
