last race of the season today, that kid Marquez is a f'in genius on a bike, I have a feeling it'll be his time? 20 years old and pure raw talent..that is all.

"Could he become bigger than Rossi?? "

There was another thread early in the week about motoGP and I said exactly the same, he reminds me of Rossi in so many ways, if not better,

I think he will be the face of racing once Rossi retires, lorenzo is a brilliant bike rider but just doesn't have a personality on race weekend,

I don't think either will be as successful as Rossi though because they will take championships off each other

I think he well could be, seriously, he is pure raw talent and has proven that he can ride anything that is given to him same as Stoner, which brings another question to the table for me...how would the season of panned out if Stoner was also riding for Honda as he too was a technically brilliant rider, I know many didn't like him but for me he was awesome the same as Marquez.

Absolutely.. Exciting times for Moto GP for years to come. I went to Brno this year to watch my first ever live race and it was spectacular.. I mean, they are fucking nutters, but my god are they superb!

I am sorry but stoner couldn't ride anything, he was quick but crashed all the time, when he first came in to motoGP he barely finished a race on the lcr Honda, his 2 world titles were because his bike was miles ahead of anything,

Whenever anyone got near him and forced him to race he either crashed or just settled for 2nd, he doesn't have the race craft and balls to push it like marquez or Rossi, infact I'd say them 2 love the cut and thrust of a proper race

I have to agree that it is exciting times with the three spanish pedrosa, lorenzo, an marquez battling.

But as a diehard Rossi fan i would love him to win a few more races before he hangs up his helmet so to speak haha. #Rossilegend. .

Got to agree with that, suprising how quickly they jump back on the bike, shows their strength and the reason I go all wobbly legged when I see a man in leathers on a decent bike

Cracking race today, Lorenzo was awesome today and to me he was the champion, shame he broke his collarbone twice in Holland and Germany, I am sure the outcome will be different if he wasn't injured as he won 8 races compare 6 wins to Marquez, still it have be a great season this year, Rossi defo have lost his speed, think he only beat Lorenzo twice this year when he was injured in Holland and USA, not sure sacking JB will help him next year though.

Have to admit Marquez is special too.

Roll on next year....

@liddy28 I have to say that you are wrong about Stoner, Stoner is the only rider can ride the Ducati while Rossi really flopped big time with Ducati, sure he crashed a lot with Ducati is because he actually push the bike to limit to get wins and podiums, but Rossi didn't, he was back fighting 6th, 7th or 8th places by not pushing the limit, big difference.

Stoner's last year with Ducati in 2010, he won 3 races out the final 5 races and left Rossi a bike that can win races. When he went to Honda, the bike was easier to ride and he won the championship with ease but he had to battle with Lorenzo though who is no push over.

Stoner was a good rider, would have be good if he stayed on for another year and see him battle out with Marquez but that will never happens....

Yeah stoner was a good rider infact a great rider, but he wasn't a great racer that's a different thing, plus the bike Rossi and stoner rode were completely different, different chassis, different engine,

he didn't have the stomach for the fight

Unfortunately Scott is only on a customer bike nowhere near as quick as the prototypes, he'll do well getting top 10 next year

But the customer bike is only .5 sec slower than a works bike straight out of the box ...

I reckon that if Bradley is consistently making top 10's then Scott definitely will!

It is ages since I last sat and watch short circuit racing, I used to go religiously to brands & donnington. I will sit glued to the screen though for the TT & North West races, road races seem more exciting recently.

Still a Rossi fan though, even if his days are numbered.

He's not getting a satellite bike like Smith's, it's going to be somewhere between the full satellite bike and the crt class, same chassis and body panels but a lesser cpu and less powerful engine,

Is it age? He's won multiple times probably very wealthy. Still not that far off the pace, but it's those last few seconds that make the difference.

I've enjoyed watching Marquez this season and think he thoroughly deserves the title. Lorenso has been faster for a good part of the season though, Marquez looks like all his Christmas's have come at once when he takes his lid off whereas Lorenso's face looks like a slapped arse if he hasn't won.

comments above about Mr stoner, neg&pos, he was good, no matter your opinion about him, he could ride, we saw him at Valencia, he pulled a wheelie over the start, faster than what i have ever been in a straight line, Haha

It seems to happen to all the greats when they have achieved probably everything they set out to. Schumacher, Rainey, Prost, Edwards. I guess they carry on because they love it and because they can still compete in the top ten (ish) but they have more fear than young up and comers. The ones that don't lose the fear quite of die in accidents pushing harder and harder, Dunlop, Senna etc

I think what's cost Rossi is the big crash where he badly broke his leg, that was his first major injury and he's not been the same since, that and losing Marco

If proof were ever needed that Marquez has exceptional talent it was shown last year in a Moto2 race. For some reason on the warm up, he had to start at the back of the grid, say in 36th place.

By the first corner he was something like 8th. Better bike maybe, but how he made his way through that many riders, through the tiniest of gaps unscathed was incredible.

Congrats also to Maverick Vinales.

There's no doubt he's a talent, I think your on about the race where he started on the front row and didn't have it in gear so was dead last when he set off and still won,

that's what Is like Rossi, Rossi once got a 10 second penalty for a jump start so won the race by 15 seconds both phenomenal riders

It has happened to loads of racers in the past, they lose someone and lose something in racing. Look at Schwantz & Rainey to name two racers, when rainey got paralysed Schwantz seemed to give in. Even those two hated each other on the track.

i made the same mistake when I heard

Basically "Grasini Honda" are going to be running two bikes next year instead of one...

One is going to be the Satelite "factory" spec which is going to be ridden by Alvaro Bautisa, and the other is going to be the "customer" spec which is going to be reddings
