Does anyone know if you have complaint against a car dealership/franchise of a car manufacturer, is it worth complaining to the car manufacturer as well?. I brought a very new car a little while ago from a main dealer, and the customer service from them has been very bad all the way through. |

"Complain to everyone you can think of."
This.
Unfortunately I don't think there is an Ombudsman you can contact but as well as the manufacturer you also have:
- Motor Codes
- RMI (Retail Motor Industry Federation)
- OFT (Office of Fair Trading)
- Trading Standards
Create hell. |

Absolutely, I got a new engine out of VW when one of their garages was negligent in servicing it and caused a blowout.

"Go to the top of the dealership, but it won't make a shit of difference complaining to the OEM"
Probably not if this is the only complaint.
If this is one of many, it may just be enough to make the OEM act. |

Most manufacturers have a service trouble shooter that liaises between the dealership and the customer over warranty disputes Etc. How much joy you will get from this would depend on exactly what the problem is, the age of the car, is it still under manufacturers warranty, and sadly, but most importantly, which manufacturer, some are very good, others are downright awful.
Firstly I would contact the manufacturer or importer in writing and try to either resolve the dispute or set up a meeting at the dealership with yourself, their man, and the dealership service manager. From my experience (25 years in the job) this usually produces a result. |
